A Message From Mike Rawstron

Welcome to the web site of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes meeting that will take place on 31st May-1st June, 2011, at the Fairmont Southampton Resort in Bermuda.

Since the Global Forum was restructured at our meeting in Mexico in 2009 and last year’s successful Global Forum meeting in Singapore, a lot of progress has been made. The Global Forum now includes 97 members which have all committed to implementing the standard.

At this Bermuda meeting we will be endorsing and publishing the third group of peer review reports. We will also be welcoming new members to join us in this work. We will find ways to use our collective expertise and to assist developing countries.

The Global Forum Steering Group will meet on Monday, 30 May 2011. The Steering Group is currently preparing the preliminary draft agenda which will shortly be forwarded for your comments and we hope to have this finalised before the end of February.

To register for the meeting, please visit the secure page of this web site where you will be able to download the registration form and send it to the Secretariat at michele.kelly@oecd.org. You will receive an email confirming your registration. I would encourage you to register as soon as possible and by no later than 1 May 2011.

For all enquiries regarding the meeting, I invite you to contact the Secretariat (michele.kelly@oecd.org)

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bermuda for hosting this event and look forward to meeting you all in Bermuda in May. I will be in contact in due course with updated information.

Mike Rawstron, Chair of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes
